Meditative Yoga with Sarah Lamb
Sundays, 12:30-1:45 pm

Meditative Yoga is a class that weaves Sarah's experience in Hatha, Kundalini, Yin, Ashtanga, Agama, and Restorative yoga with meditation and relaxation techniques, to provide a deeply relaxing, yet potentially invigorating, practice. This class will leave you feeling harmonized throughout your system, offering you a fresh and positive start to your week.

Sarah Lamb has been studying and practicing yoga and meditation for over 10 years. She received her teacher training from Prana Yoga College in Vancouver, BC, in 2005 and founded Inner Bloom Yoga in 2007. She holds a B.A. in English and Psychology from SUNY Geneseo.

Sarah has just returned from 11 months of travel and work in Korea and Thailand, where she studied Agama Yoga with Swami Vivekananda. This form of yoga emphasizes the yin principle of stillness. The practice is done with the eyes closed, and each posture is held for 3 to 5 minutes to bring the self inward and foster a more meditative practice. Sarah also offers her mastery of Reiki by giving students gentle treatments when in relaxation, if they so desire.

Salsa Class & Guided Dance ... every Sunday!

To know even a little of the social dance style known as salsa can give you the extra confidence to step onto the dance floor, even if you don't know anyone or can't speak the language! Each session includes a 45-minute lesson, then 1 hour+ of guided dancing to practice and enjoy.
Cost: $5. All are welcome!
No street shoes, please;

Yoga and Ayurveda for the Uninitiated, with Heidi Friederich & Molly Oliver
September only, three Mondays, 10 a.m.-12 noon, September 14, 21 & 28

Join Heidi Friederich and Molly Oliver in a welcoming environment to learn yoga’s beginning poses and the basics of Ayurveda, the ancient system of self-healing. This class is especially designed to introduce very beginning students to these proven wellness tools. If you ever have wanted to try yoga but thought you couldn’t because you would be too inflexible, uncoordinated, out of shape, not strong enough, not cute enough, etc. … well, this is the class for you. Yoga and Ayurveda can be applied almost anywhere, anytime, with great results. All you need for this class is the desire to try something new.

About the class: Each class is two hours long. The first hour will include gentle yoga poses and relaxation techniques taught by Heidi. In the second hour, Molly will explain individual Ayurvedic body types, as well as simple ways to increase energy and rest more deeply.
Please come to class with an empty belly (3 hours after a big meal, 1-2 hours after a snack). Wear comfortable, loose, stretchy clothes you can move in. We will be barefoot for the yoga practice, but you will want a pair of cozy socks for the resting poses. All the yoga props you need are available at the studio, no need to buy any special equipment. (If you do have your own yoga or Pilates mat, feel free to bring it.)

Cost: $20 for individual classes or $50 for all 3.
In order to give each participant individual attention, class size may be limited.

About the instructors: Heidi Friederich is a long-time student of yoga and philosophy. She recently completed yoga teacher training with Francios Raoult of Open Sky Yoga. Heidi is an active docent at the Memorial Art Gallery and works part-time in the Gallery Store.
Molly Oliver recently completed a 2-year intensive study of Ayurveda with Dr. Vasant Lad in Albuquerque, NM. She studied yoga, pathology, anatomy, and sanskrit in addition to Ayurvedic theory with an emphasis on clinical practice. Molly is excited to offer classes and individual Ayurvedic consultations to her community.



West Coast Swing! with Anna Reguero and Steve Ryan
Tuesdays, 6:30-10:30 pm - Starts September 8!
Three 50-minute classes and 90 minutes of DJ’d dancing with the region’s only instructors of this fun, flowing, and creative style of swing dance.
6:30-7:20: Advanced WCS & Team Prep.
Choreography and individual dance movements that can be used when partner dancing. This class is preparation for a West Coast Swing team and public performances!
7:20-8:10: Intermediate WCS.
More advanced patterns, styling and musicality; required for anyone looking to join the West Coast Swing team in the future.
8:10-9:00: Beginning WCS.
The fundamentals of West Coast Swing; learn and refine basic moves.
9:00-10:30 p.m.: DJ'd Dancing.

TriYoga is a Kundalini-based Vinyasa style that emphasizes the trinity of breath, movement, and mudra. This meditative style of movement, often called “relaxation in action,” offers the opportunity to strengthen your core muscles, stretch your spine in all directions, and gain a new understanding of your body and self.

Genevra Piedmonte, ACSM, HFS, studied exercise physiology at Ithaca College (BS, 2000) and completed yoga teacher training locally with Absolute Yoga (2003-2005). She founded SuperGirl Fitness in 2002 and recently opened a studio in Bushnell’s Basin, SuperGirl Fitness and Yoga. She specializes in private yoga and fitness consultation for seniors.

New students of TriYoga are recommended (but not required) to have 1-3 private consultations as they begin this new style of movement, to identify any specific needs.

Experience Y2 Yoga

ALL LEVEL Y2 Yoga.
A unique blending of classical yoga instruction with an introduction to yogic philosophy and pranyayamic breath-work. This weekly, structured series is for those who are looking for something a bit different from the average class. A slower-paced practice instructed in a traditional "non-areobic" format, consisting of foundational postures, integrative alignment, and restorative work. Taught in a style that blends teachings and practices from many traditions and new interpretations on classic yoga postures.
No previous experience necessary.

Tuesdays, 12 noon-1:30 pm
RESTORATIVE Y2 Yoga.
This innovative class is all about surrendering the body to the gravitational pulls of Earth. Supporting the physical form with the necessary props to lengthen and elongate the deeper tissues of the body, all while breathing deeply and allowing the body to open gradually. A wonderful blending of gentle practice and focused supportive work. Give this one a try. Taught in a style that blends teachings and practices from many traditions.
No previous experience necessary.

This work offers as much to beginners as to persons experienced in yoga, dance, sports, or martial arts. It is ideal for body workers.

The body is the path. This class is an exploration into the life of the body, developing attention, breath, sound, and micromovement as tools of inquiry and processes of nourishment. As the intelligence of the body awakens, it reveals its capacity to reshape patterns of thought, feeling, and action, and to open channels of subtle perceiving and deep resourcing. The work goes where it is needed, towards a state of health, resilience, and body-mind congruence. Open to everyone.
